Spring at Columbia Road Flower Market

This week-end, spring has surprisingly arrived at London, bringing along two beautiful and bright sunny days full of happy faces and new inspiration. What would therefore be better than spending Sunday at my favourite market?

In good company, I strolled around to discover colourful spring flowers in all shapes and sizes. Accompanied by French songs performed by little street bands and the smell of coffee, cupcakes and croissants, we first went to admire Lily Vanillis breathtaking cakes and quiches, then to Printers & Stationers. This lovely small wine shop and café, where you can find the best and most authentic French pains au chocolat and croissants is always surrounded by many people who are sitting in the sun and savouring life’s joys. If you get the chance, you must definitely go try a pain au chocolat and some coffee there!

Our next stop after admiring more flowers and stores down Columbia Road then was Cake Hole, a well-hidden café at the back of a vintage china store. The fluffy and fresh scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam I had were just a perfect match with the mocha coffee. For the sweet-tooths among you, there always is a selection of incredible cakes to choose from!
